Slovak police are investigating a disturbing incident that occurred over the weekend at Šafárik Square in Bratislava. A young man was stabbed after an attacker allegedly became enraged upon hearing him and his friends speaking Hungarian. 
The victim sustained injuries and is receiving medical care.
Reports suggest that the attacker may have been motivated by ethnic prejudice. The Hungarian press is reporting the incident as a nationalistic hate crime. "We are taking this incident very seriously," a police spokesperson said. "We are conducting a thorough investigation to determine the motive and bring the perpetrator to justice."

Meanwhile, in the Czech Republic, the demolition of three bridges in the Nymbursko region is causing long detours for truck drivers. 
Road workers have begun extensive repairs on the bridges, which are located on the road from Jičín to Poděbrady and to the D11 highway. The road is impassable, creating a major complication for freight transportation.
