Hradec Králové is grappling with a series of disturbing crimes, placing local law enforcement under increased scrutiny. Two separate cases, one involving a double murder and the other a rape and extortion, have shaken the community and sparked investigations into police procedures and judicial decisions.
Teenager Accused of Double Murder
The General Inspectorate of Security Forces (GIBS) is currently investigating the detention of a 16-year-old boy accused of a brutal double murder in a local shop. The teenager allegedly stabbed two saleswomen, both of whom tragically succumbed to their injuries. 
The investigation was launched after the suspect reportedly complained about what he perceived as an overly forceful intervention by the responding police unit. This raises questions about the appropriateness of the police response, particularly when dealing with a minor, even in the context of a violent crime.
“The investigation is focusing on whether the intervention unit used excessive force during the arrest," a source close to GIBS stated. "We need to determine if the level of force was justified given the circumstances."
Rape and Extortion Case Unfolds
In a separate case, a 61-year-old man from Hradec Králové faces serious charges of rape and extortion. Police allege that he sexually abused a 22-year-old man, nearly forty years his junior, by threatening him with violence. The threats were so severe that the victim feared for his health and life. The severity of the alleged crimes prompted the deployment of a SWAT team during the arrest, highlighting the perceived risk posed by the suspect.
During a search of the suspect's apartment, police discovered three legally held firearms, along with biological traces and documentary evidence, including collected information about the victim. 
This discovery raises questions about the suspect's intentions and the potential for further harm. The suspect faces a potential prison sentence of up to ten years if convicted.
The district court is scheduled to decide on whether to impose pre-trial detention on Friday. This decision will be crucial in determining whether the suspect remains in custody pending the outcome of the trial.
