The Massachusetts high school basketball playoffs are heating up, with thrilling matchups and standout performances across the state. Two teams, Franklin and Bridgewater-Raynham, have emerged victorious in recent contests, showcasing their talent and determination.
Franklin Secures Hard-Fought Wins
Franklin's boys basketball team has been on a roll, led by the impressive play of Caden Sullivan. In a recent game against North Andover, Sullivan reached a significant milestone, scoring his 1,000th career point while racking up 28 points overall. Justice Samuels also contributed crucial three-point plays, helping No. 1 Franklin hold off No. 16 North Andover with a final score of 62-54.

Sullivan's impressive performance continued in the Div. 1 quarterfinals against Bridgewater-Raynham. He notched 24 points, 10 rebounds, and four assists, securing a double-double. Jake Olmstead added 17 points, and Justice Samuels chipped in with 13, as Franklin defeated Bridgewater-Raynham, 63-50.
Bridgewater-Raynham's Tenacious Victory
Meanwhile, Bridgewater-Raynham demonstrated their own tenacity in their game against Boston Latin. Led by senior point guard Noah Perry Lewis, who scored 17 points, Bridgewater-Raynham advanced to the Round of 8 in the MIAA Division 1 boys basketball tournament with a 59-46 victory. "We knew we couldn’t lose," said Perry Lewis, highlighting the team's determination.

Unfortunately, Bridgewater-Raynham's run ended in the quarterfinals against Franklin, but their performance throughout the tournament was commendable.
Girls Basketball Highlights
The girls basketball scene also had its share of exciting moments. In the Div. 3 quarterfinals, Bella Owumi delivered a standout performance, netting 19 points with 14 rebounds.
