According to reports, Israeli warplanes struck military sites in Kiswah, south of Damascus, and in the southern province of Deraa. This action is seen as a clear message to Syria, with Israel stating it "will not allow southern Syria to become southern Lebanon." This statement alludes to concerns about the presence and influence of groups hostile to Israel in the region.
Adding to the complexity, reports also indicate that Israeli troops have created a "sterile strip" in southern Lebanon, devastating villages, including the Christian village of Sarada. This action has been described as an act of revenge, aimed at expelling opponents.
"It has been pure revenge. They want to kick us out," a local resident reportedly said, highlighting the human cost of the ongoing conflict.
