Teacher Flees Russia After Speaking Out
Natalia Taranuszenko, a Russian language and literature teacher from Protvino near Moscow, was forced to flee her homeland in June 2024. Her crime? Teaching her students the truth about the conflict. According to Taranuszenko, criminal proceedings were initiated against her for "falsifying information about the Russian army" after a lesson where she compared Russia's actions to Nazi Germany. "I told my students that Russia behaves like Nazi Germany," she stated.
The situation became so dire that Taranuszenko's daughter and grandson also had to escape. The family feared the repercussions of the charges against her. "The husband of a former student examined the statistics for my article in the criminal code and stated that there were no acquittals," Taranuszenko explained, highlighting the bleak outlook she faced within the Russian legal system.
Ukrainian Jammers Neutralize "Miracle Weapon"
On the battlefield, Russia is also experiencing setbacks. For months, Russian fighter-bombers have relied heavily on guided glide bombs (KAB) along the front lines in Ukraine. These bombs were considered a "miracle weapon" by the Russians, against which Ukrainian forces had little defense.
However, according to a recent report in Forbes magazine, Ukrainian jammers have now effectively neutralized these bombs. 
The report states that the jammers have "obliterated" the front line and its surroundings, significantly disrupting Russian operations. This represents a major blow to Russia's military capabilities and a significant victory for Ukraine's electronic warfare efforts.
North Korean Reinforcements in Kursk
Amidst these challenges, there are reports of North Korean forces being reinforced in the Kursk region of Russia. These troops are reportedly replacing a thousand fallen soldiers. In return for their service on the front lines, North Korea is receiving essential supplies from Russia, including medicine, coal, and food.
