According to reports, Joanna H. had been living in fear of her son and had recently moved in with her mother for safety. She returned to her apartment on February 24th to meet with Mateusz K., who allegedly demanded money from her. "I confirm that in connection with the murder we have detained the victim's son, and the man is being interrogated at the prosecutor's office," said prosecutor Ryszard Gąsiorowski of the District Prosecutor's Office in Koszalin.
Neighbors and acquaintances described Joanna H. as a beloved teacher. "Children adored Mrs. Asia, she taught them English, and now such news—a terrible tragedy," one neighbor said. Another recounted hearing "the terrible cry of a woman" on the day of the murder.

The search continues as her loved ones anxiously await any news.
