COFAQUI Provides Administrative Services at USAC Kiosk

Guatemala City, August 2, 2024 - The College of Pharmacists and Chemists of Guatemala (COFAQUI) recently provided administrative services to its members at a mobile kiosk set up on the campus of the University of San Carlos of Guatemala (USAC). The kiosk was installed on Tuesday, August 30, 2024, in the T15 building of the Faculty of Chemical and Pharmaceutical Sciences, with the support of the university's administration.

The COFAQUI administrative staff attended to various procedures for its members who work at USAC, providing personalized guidance, collecting membership fees, and issuing active member certificates. This collaborative effort was approved by the 2023/2025 Board of Directors at the request of the faculty's professorial body.

"This service kiosk is a great example of the strong partnership between COFAQUI and USAC," said Dr. Alejandra Gómez, Dean of the Faculty of Chemical and Pharmaceutical Sciences. "By bringing COFAQUI's administrative services directly to our campus, we are making it more convenient for our pharmaceutical and chemical professionals to maintain their professional standing and stay connected with their regulatory body."

The on-site presence of COFAQUI has been well-received by the faculty and staff at USAC. "Having the COFAQUI team here to assist us with our administrative needs is a tremendous help," said Dr. Luis Ramírez, a professor in the Pharmaceutical Sciences program. "It saves us time and ensures that our professional obligations are met in a timely manner."

This collaboration between COFAQUI and USAC is part of a broader effort to strengthen the professional development and regulatory oversight of pharmaceutical and chemical practitioners in Guatemala. CAYCEQ Representatives Meet with AQBG Board

Guatemala City, July 29, 2024 - Members of the Advisory and Control Commission for the Professional Practice of the Biologist Chemist (CAYCEQ) of the College of Pharmacists and Chemists of Guatemala (COFAQUI) held a meeting with representatives of the Board of Directors of the Association of Biologist Chemists of Guatemala (AQBG). The meeting was held on July 25, 2024, via the Zoom platform.

During the meeting, the participants discussed topics of interest to Biologist Chemists, addressing some of the concerns of the association's members regarding the file review process carried out by CAYCEQ. The commissioners provided information and explained the current internal procedure for receiving, reviewing, and resolving requests within the established time frames.

"We appreciate the AQBG Board's interest in this meeting and reaffirm our commitment to continue supporting the legal and ethical professional practice of our members," said Dr. Karla Gómez, Chair of CAYCEQ. "Our commission is currently composed of 7 active Biologist Chemist members who serve in an honorary capacity, with positions held for a term of 2 years."
